Labor, Delivery and Recovery Rooms (LDRP)

|
Our staff is committed to providing family-centered birth experiences for our Westside neighbors. Our recently remodeled Birth Center features large, comfortable birthing suites where our new moms labor, deliver and recover without ever changing beds.
These private Labor, Delivery and Recovery suites are equipped with special birthing beds that feature enhanced lumbar support, as well as a couch and pullout bed for dad or other family members. Each room has a walk-in shower with bench seating and an adjustable, hand-held showerhead. Both mom and baby are carefully monitored throughout the labor with remote fetal monitors in every room and, of course, lots of tender loving care from our experienced nursing staff.
The department also features advanced systems for infant safety, making Memorial a comfortable and secure place to welcome your new baby. All newborns are provided with a security tag to prevent misidentification and the access to our entire department is carefully monitored and controlled.

Convenience and Comfort Comes First

|
In 2006, Memorial added room service to the list of amenities offered in the OB Department. Patients are provided a menu (provided in English or Spanish) with a wide variety of food items to select from including French toast, fruit, chorizo and eggs, cheese enchiladas, chicken fajitas, shrimp pasta, salmon, hamburger with fries and more. Menu items are now available "on-demand" according to the patient's desires.
Normally scheduled meals are available with breakfast served from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., and dinner is served between 4:30 - 7 p.m. We also offer a complimentary meal for the father right after delivery, and all subsequent meals are only $5.00, allowing the new dad the opportunity to stay with his family. After delivery, Memorial offers a "Celebration" dinner to the new parents, featuring either a steak or chicken dinner and apple cider in a champagne glass to commemorate the special occasion.

For added convenience, patients may now take a virtual tour of the Labor, Delivery and Recovery rooms online. Online pre-registration [insert link] is available and encouraged as this allows Memorial to anticipate your arrival and provide a quick admission when you’re in active labor.
