Patient Feedback Shapes Medical-Surgical Department Improvements
Memorial Hospital Los Banos' Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) Department has a brand-new look! Some of the 28-bed unit's most noticeable improvements include newly carpeted hallways and new vinyl, wood-like floors in patient rooms. The new flooring has greatly reduced noise levels, the number one patient complaint. In the future, televisions with headphones will be installed next to every patient's bed to help cut down on noise and improve patient privacy.
Patients complaining of cold temperatures (another common survey remark)will be treated to warm blankets once the unit receives its new blanket warmer. A family member or friend can now spend the night next to the patient's bed in one of the unit's new sleeper chairs.
New window blinds and privacy curtains have also been installed in all patient rooms. New safety cribs that can double as gurneys have also been added for children and infants.
Rural Health Clinic Relocates
Memorial Hospital Rural Health Clinic opened in a new location on Wednesday, March 1, 2006. The clinic moved in order to provide greater service and patient comfort. They will continue to provide the same friendly, bilingual health care providers to assist you. The new address is 400 West I Street, Suite C, Los Banos. Their phone number is 209-826-0591 ext. 262.
